Last update: 17 March 2008
The SIM CLOSE problem has been resolved. Apparently My Phone is in flight mode. I posted the solution here.

Many people visit this post to get info about My Phone T22 Duo. Sadly, mine isn't working anymore. It worked fine in the beginning but one day, I just got a SIM CLOSE message from the phone. Both my SIM cards work in other phones so I really don't have any idea what's the problem. I 'm yet to discover if my phone can still be revived. I hope it can still be repaired. It's just a few months old and I haven't got my money's worth yet :( If you have info where I can send My Phone for repair, please let me know.

I normally carry two mobile phones - one for roaming (SMART) and one with local sim. Lately, one of my phones seemed to be giving up on me already so I thought of buying a new one. Lucky me, my husband read my mind and bought a new phone for me when he went for a vacation during Eid. But the phone he bought was a different one - it's not one those popular brands. It is called MY PHONE and it can operate two sim cards at the same time - just what I needed.

It looks similar to the NOKIA model I want to purchase - slim, big screen and lightwieght. It has a touch screen and a 2 MB digital camera, video recorder, MP3, player, calendar, etc. It has the same features as the popular phones today and the interface was patterned after popular brands. It comes with one year warranty and it is cheaper too. The only thing I didn't like are the built-in ring and alert tones. But since it can play MP3, then I can use MP3 for my ring tone.

Overall, I'd recommend this mobile phone especially for those who normally carry two mobile phones. The dual sim feature is definitely a winner!!!

MY PHONE is available at:

Nina,

Nice nga isa na lang ang dalhin na phone instead of 2.

Magkano?

Nina Lumberio said...

P10,600 inclusive of VAT. Saka pala additional disadvantage is availability of accessories. Pero di naman ako mahilig sa ganun.

hi. my friend bought one. she's having problems with it because she can't transfer mp3s from her computer. the phone didn't come with a driver. do you know where i can get one?

My hubby bought mine in Megamall for 10,600 six months ago. It should be cheaper by now. Sadly, nag SIM CLOSE cya. I don't know kung bakit pero gumagana naman ang sim ko sa ibang phone. I'm yet to discover what happened. Just buy NOKIA...

MyPhone T22 Duo - Dual Sim and More!

I want to try the MyPhone T22 Duo because it's the first dual active SIM mobile phone in the country that is made for Filipinos, by Filipinos.

hi!stumbled upon your blog. I'm getting a pldt sim kasi but i refuse to bring an extra unit. dami bitbit diba. nway, what i'm concerned about is the sound quality. i probably have 500 songs in my 6233 music phone. it would be so sad to part ways with it. i have not come across any better phone kahit yung n-series pa ng nokia. stereo ba yung sound niyan? really am curious. i hope to get a hold of a dual sim phone soon eh. thanks! :-)

hi guys,
i just bought my t22 duo 2 months ago.hay naku..i hate this phone already.I use a blootooth headset,it only works with SIM 1.Some of my friends text me using their chikka account,if they send me message to SIM 2(SMART),the message is blank! There's a problem with the program of T22,I found B22 much better! The price of T22 is not worth!

Will this phone work in the US? I am very curious to see if it does because my dad had brought it back from when he was in the philippines last and i put 2 different sim cards in it (tmobile and at&t) and it recognizes my contact list but unable to make calls or texts.. any information would be a help! thanks!

MyPhone has a website and a list of dealers and support centers. Hopefully, the website and support centers would be able to provide you technical support to solve your problems. http://myphone.com.ph

im planning to buy b22duo, is there any comment about the unit? please tell me po.. have a nice day.

Nina Lumberio said...

Hi Bino, yong akin ay T22 pero binigay ko na sa brother ko. For me okay lang cya, I'm not heavy phone user and I don't text much. I also don't use the phone camera nor the MP3 feature of the phone.

Sa una, nakakapanibago. Parang Nokia sya pero may kaunting variations pero mas madali i-operate kung gagamitin mo yong stylus.

The best thing about this phone is that it operates two SIMs simultaneously.

Pangit ang mga ring tones nya pero kung may memory card ka, pwede ka gumamit ng songs as ring tone.

Why I gave it away? I normally have 2 sims - one roaming, one local sim. My friends and relatives send message in my roaming SIM while I reply using my local SIM - that way, it's cheaper for both of us. But I found that with My Phone, it's very inconvinient to have a text marathon using the two SIM cards. After reading my message from my roaming SIM card, I have to go to my other SIM card to reply.

I guess if your main objective is para same network ang gagamitin nyong SIM card ng friends/relatives mo, okay lang sya. Kasi when you receive a message, you can reply using the same SIM card.

While the phone can operate two SIM cards simultaneously, the two SIM cards are operating independently. You can only use (text/call) one at a time - which make sense naman di ba?

Hope this helps...

yikes ganun po pala ung t22, i thougt may option sya to send from minor and major sim cards witout even switching your sim.. like my two co-china manufactured phones..

hope B22 has a different texting features compared to t22..

Nina Lumberio said...

Hi Riggs,

Thanks for sharing your experience.

Actually the 2 SIM cards are operating at the same time but when you receive a message from SIM1 and you want to reply using SIM2, you need to close your message, choose SIM 2 and write your reply :)

regards,
nina

i thinks the only difference of myphone and other chinese dual sim na binebenta sa market is the warranty.. if you buy a myphone in an authorized dealer, may 1 year warranty ka.. but if you buy a dual sim phone na usually binebenta sa tabi tabi, 1 week- 1 month lang yung warranty.. if you try to search the internet,, you can find phones na hawig ng myphone models.. minsan mas mura pa.. 3500 for a normal dual sim and 6000 naman for a dual sim with tv..

all have features like:

gprs, bluetooth, and memory card slot..

i also have read that my phone is manufactured in china.. (parang chinese phone na tinatakan ng "MYPHONE" brand).. then tumaas ang presyo pag nandito na sa pinas kc branded na..

i have nothing against myphone brand,, kc i planning to get a 350 postpaid plan from suncell with a free myphone b22.. since myphone is purchasing/ manufacturing their phones in china, sna maging strict sila s quality control.. especially the accesories,(na usually not included sa warranty)..

for my experience naman sa my china phones,, ok nman ang performance.. ang problema lang is walang service center dito sa pinas.. i bought two of these phones,
the one bought here in the philippines, dual sim with radio and supplied with two batteries, with one week warranty.. (after 9 months of usage bigla nlang nag-hang then a phone repair shop told me na software problem daw and his charging me for 1500.. ;c.. )

while the other one bought in singapore, dual sim with radio and analog tv,,also has a 3.2 inch wide touch screen, supplied with 2 batteries,, with one year warranty.(but warranty valid only in singapore).. after 10 months of usage ok pa rin.. sira nga lang ung free na earphone..
but its ok coz the phone has a very loud , dolby surround quality speakers..;)

hope myphone can lower the prices of there dual sim phones because a lot of their co-china manufactured phones have better features with a lower price.. and also for them to import phones with newer features like analog tv and wifi...:)

add ko din po pala.. hope they can update their website : http://www.myphone.com.ph kasi it took me a lot of internet search para lang mahanap ung features ng MYPHONE B22, na up to now wala pa sa website nila.. thanks to guys like ms.Nina Lumberio for sharing some features and experiences of their phones for references..

Ung T22 ko, ok naman kaya lang ayaw pumasok ung mmc memory card, even the guys from cdr king and sony avid can't get the memory in, lumalabas. Anyone with similar experience? I also don't know if the thing connects to the internet via wap. And if MMS works for this phone. I also have a china fone brought in from china. Pareho lang sila ng features. Name lang naiba.

friends, i am an owner of b22 duo, its been a year now with me. i brought it here in qatar. may be somebody knows how to unlock the sim 1 cause its locked on suncell.
i am only using sim 2. it works good. my phone still works aroud 8 days with out charging. i only use it for recieving txt msgs. alarm,to play mp3 musics, mp4 movies. but of course when you use other features battery life will be only around 8 hours. and i am using it too as a usb storage. cause it can read a 4gb micro sd. i stored lot of my private files at my phone. you can also use it as a web cam for YM. very nice phone. only sim 1 is my problem. bacause i cant put a local sim in sim 2, i cant send msg. and recive. i cant call either. only recive calls. so its only good for roaming sim. but if somebody knows how to open my sim 1, i will greatly appriciate it. and one more problem is the usb cable charger. but i managed to convert it. i used a usb keyboard wire to replace the usb wire included at the phone package.
